Australia exported 52,602 tons of chickpeas and 210,880 tons of lentils in March, according to Australia export data.
In terms of chickpeas, Bangladesh was the largest market in March with 31,833 tons shipped, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 9,360 tons and Pakistan with 4,459 tons.
The March total brings Australia's total chickpea exports for the first half of the marketing year to 367,899 tons, with Bangladesh, at 165,829 tons, the main destination, followed by Pakistan at 78,865 tons and the United Arab Emirates at 69,620 tons.
In terms of lentils shipped in March, Bangladesh was the largest market with 99,207 tons exported, followed by India (64,645 tons) and Sri Lanka (22,439 tons).
Australia's lentil exports for the first half of 2023-24 stood at 862,139 tons, with India being the largest market with 477,366 tons, followed by Bangladesh with 139,374 tons and Sri Lanka with 73,365 tons.
