From 2022 to 2023, expenditure on machinery including computers, the highest import category product in Norway, increased by 8.1%. Benefiting from increased expenditure, the remaining import purchases were in the category of optical, technical, and medical apparatus, which grew by 0.6%.
The most severe declines in imports to Norway were observed in mineral fuels including oil (down -25.9%), furniture, bedding, signs, and prefabricated buildings (down -17.6% from 2022), vehicles (down -16.3%), nickel (down -15.6%), and plastics materials and plastic products (down -11.7%).
