Gems and precious metals were the fastest-growing categories among the top 10 export categories, increasing by 22.1% compared to 2022. Gold accounted for the majority of this category's revenue increase. The second-highest export sales growth was in machinery including computers, growing by 8.7%. Chilean exports of ores, slag, and ash saw a residual value growth in volume, increasing by 4.9% year-on-year.
The most severely affected category among Chile's top 10 exports was wood, with a decrease of -28.8%.
At the detailed four-digit HTS code level, Chile's most valuable export products were copper ores and concentrates, refined copper and unwrought alloys, carbonates and percarbonates, molybdenum ores and concentrates, various fruits including apricots, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and plums, non-dissolving chemical wood pulp, unwrought copper, frozen whole fish, and iron ores and concentrates. These products collectively accounted for 64.3% of Chile's total export sales.
