18.8% from $122.8 billion in 2021.
The most valuable imports purchased by Ireland in 2022 include aircraft and spacecraft, heterocyclic compounds and nucleic acids, electronic integrated circuits and microassemblies, blood components including antisera, and processed petroleum.

The latest country-specific data shows that Ireland's imports are mainly supplied by exporters from the UK (35.6% of France's global total), the US (7.5%), France (5.2%), mainland China (5.1%), Germany (4%), the Netherlands (2.8%), Switzerland (2.7%), Israel (2.2%), Belgium (also 2.2%), Japan ( 1.8%), Spain (1.7%) and Italy (1.3%).

Ireland's top ten imports accounted for almost three-quarters (73.5%) of the total value of its purchases from other countries.
The fastest growing imports were mineral fuels, including petroleum (up 86.6%), miscellaneous chemicals (up 53.4%), organic chemicals (up 51.4%) and then machinery, including computers (up 23.3%).
The only category of Ireland's most expensive imports to decline is aircraft and spacecraft, a highly capital intensive category, which has fallen by -10.9% since 2021.

Ireland exports $214 billion worth of exports in 2022, up 9.2% from $196 billion in 2021.

Organic chemicals are the fastest growing of the top ten export categories, growing by 24.7% from 2021 to 2022. The second highest improvement in export sales was in the dairy products, eggs and honey category, which grew by 20.2%. Ireland had the third highest increase in shipments of pharmaceuticals, up 11.8% year-on-year.
The largest decline in Ireland's top ten export categories was in the perfumes and cosmetics category, down -38.5%.
