Copper is the fastest growing of the top ten export categories, growing 454.3% from 2021 to 2022. The second highest growth in export sales was in the fruit and nut products category, which grew by 425.6%. Cameroon's machinery shipments, including computers, ranked third in terms of growth, up 228.5 percent.
The only decline in Cameroon's top 10 export categories was cotton, down -82% year-on-year.
More detailed HTS codes show that Cameroon's ten most valuable exports are crude oil (35.5% of the country's total revenues), petroleum gas (26.2%), cocoa beans (8%), sawn timber (7.8%), bananas including plantain (4.4%), logs (2.2%), cocoa butter, fats, and oils (1.9%), cocoa paste (1.8%), unwrought aluminum (1.5%), and natural rubber (1.5%). 1.5%) and natural rubber (1.3%).
