According to relevant regulations, the Government of the Russian Federation has waived tariffs on certain types of fresh and frozen tomatoes imported into the country, up to a supply quantity of 100,000 tons, until May 31, 2024.
The decree states: "Approve additional rules on the allocation of quantities of certain types of fresh or refrigerated tomatoes and provide them with tariff preferences...".
"These rules establish procedures for the distribution of quantities of fresh or refrigerated tomatoes among participants in foreign trade activities, excluding ribbed, oblong (elongated), and cherry tomatoes (including cocktail tomato varieties), medium-sized and large-sized tomatoes - as stipulated in paragraph 7.1.66 of Decision No. 130 of the Eurasian Economic Union Commission dated November 27, 2009, 'On Unified Customs and Tariff Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union'". The tariff preference document specifies "a quantity of 100,000 tons."
