In 2022, global toothpaste exports reached a total of approximately $4 billion.
This figure represents a decline of -3.1% over a five-year period starting in 2018, when toothpaste exports were valued at $4.15 billion. Year-on-year, the value of toothpaste exports dropped by -6.5%, compared to $4.3 billion in 2021.
The top 5 countries exporting the most toothpaste in 2022 were China, Poland, Germany, the United States, and Mexico. Together, these nations accounted for 45.1% of global toothpaste sales during that year.
Europe led in terms of regional toothpaste exports, with shipments valued at $2.17 billion, representing 53.9% of the global total. Asian exporters followed, contributing 27.4% of the total, while North America accounted for 13.3%. Latin America, excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, made up 3%, Africa contributed 1.7%, and Oceania (led by Australia and New Zealand) accounted for 0.7%.
