Top 10 Export Products from Finland Export Data

According to Finland's export data, the top 10 export items from Finland account for 69.1% of Finland's total exports:

1. Machinery including computers: $11.8 billion (14.4%)

2. Mineral fuels including oil: $8.1 billion (9.8%)

3. Electrical machinery and equipment: $7.7 billion (9.4%)

4. Paper and paper products: $6.8 billion (8.2%)

5. Iron and steel: $5.8 billion (7%)

6. Vehicles: $4.3 billion (5.2%)

7. Optical, technical, and medical equipment: $3.7 billion (4.4%)

8. Wood: $3.2 billion (3.9%)

9. Wood pulp: $3 billion (3.6%)

10. Ships: $2.6 billion (3.2%)


Ships are the fastest-growing category among the top 10 export categories, growing by 47.3% from 2021 to 2022. The second-highest improvement in export sales is seen in machinery including computers, increasing by 14.5%. Finland's electrical machinery and equipment rank third in terms of shipment volume, growing by 6.6%. The largest decline among Finland's top 10 export categories is seen in wood, with a year-on-year decrease of -24.2%.


The latest Finnish export data for 2023 shows that at a more detailed four-digit HS code level, Finland's most valuable export product is refined petroleum (7.7%), followed by coated paper (4.2%), then Finnish exports of flat-rolled stainless steel products (3.9%), insoluble chemical wood pulp (3.4%), cruise or cargo ships and barges (2.7%), sawn wood (2.4%), electrical converters and power units (2.2%), dosage mixtures (1.8%), electronic medical equipment such as X-ray machines (1.7%), and finally automobiles (1.6%).

The latest finnish export data shows that 66.8% of Finland's exported products are purchased by importers from the following countries: the United States (11%), Sweden (10.5%), Germany (10.4%), the Netherlands (8%), Mainland China (4.5%), Estonia (3.6%), the United Kingdom (3.39%), Poland (3.37%), France (3.29%), Belgium (3.03%), Norway (2.95%), and Italy (2.8%).
