Tendata's provided Japan import data shows that in 2023, the total value of imported products into Japan reached $785.9 billion. Compared to $905.1 billion in 2022, the total value of Japan's imported goods decreased by -13.2%.
From a continental perspective, based on the Japan import data provided by Tendata, 59.4% of Japan's total imports in 2023 were purchased from other Asian countries. European trading partners supplied 13.4% of Japan's import purchases, while an additional 13.2% of the value came from North American suppliers. Proportions from Oceania (9.1%), Latin America led by Australia and Papua New Guinea (3.4%), and Africa (1.4%) were smaller.
